Are you diligent or lazy? One leads to riches, the other leads to poverty!

My parents always told me that we need to work hard to achieve good things in life and to provide for our families. You know, they were not wrong. The Proverbist taught that the hand of the diligent makes rich. In all honorable labor, there is increase. Our salaries are based on meeting a “need” or a “want”. He also referenced the ant. They work all Summer long, preparing for their Winter season, and they work all Winter long, preparing for the Summer season. They are diligent, and work with purpose and are instinctively united. Conversely, the lazy one refuses to work, and always complains about how difficult things are. The Scriptures say that the lazy ones will become poor. In the old days. parents sent their teenage children to work during Summers so that they can pay for their clothing and books. This way, they learned how to be responsible and appreciate the value of money and hard work. Today, many teenagers refuse to help at home; they are consumed with social media and gaming, and they don’t value what parents provide for them. These are our future leaders. The future of this nation depends on our children learning to be responsible, righteous and honorable. However, the responsibility of our children developing this honorable ethic lies primarily on the shoulders of the parents. Let’s pray for the parents and their children, so that the parents would be able to successfully pass on to them the value of diligence and honor. Remember, Jesus said: “Let the children come to me…”

Proverbs 10: 4,5 – He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a wise son; he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
