Stop wasting your time!

Paul was a man of wisdom. His focus was on taking the gospel message and discipling everywhere he could, and discipling as many as he could. He refused to get involved in petty disputes or issues. His mission was too important to waste any time in trivialities. And because of this, he was able to  reach many regions with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He once wrote to the Corinthian church about that. 1 Corinthians 2:2 (Amplified version) says: “for I made the decision to know nothing [that is, to forego philosophical or theological discussions regarding inconsequential things and opinions while] among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified [and the meaning of His redemptive, substitutionary death and His resurrection].” I find that most people are continuously involved in inconsequential discussions, arguments, disagreements and issues, and because of this much of their time is wasted. The end result is that nothing important ever gets done, important projects are never finished, and they never accomplish what God called them to do. Jesus was displeased with the fig tree that bore no fruit (Matthew 21:19). He seeks fruit from our lives. How about you? Are you bearing fruit, or are you too busy with inconsequential things that are always getting in the way? When Jesus looks at you, will he find a fruitful tree, or an unfruitful anemic tree? Paul realized that his time was precious, so he purposefully lived life in such a way that he consciously focused on God’s will for his life. Where is your focus today?

Deja de perder el tiempo!

Pablo era un hombre de sabiduría. Se enfocó en llevar el mensaje del evangelio a todos los lugares que pudo y discipular a todos como pudo. Se negó a involucrarse en pequeñas disputas o problemas. Su misión era demasiado importante como para desperdiciarla en trivialidades. Y debido a esto, pudo lograr alcanzar muchas regiones con el evangelio de Jesucristo. Una vez escribió a la iglesia de Corinto sobre eso. 1 Corintios 2:2 (versión ampliada) dice: “porque tomé la decisión de no saber nada entre vosotros, es decir, renuncie las discusiones filosóficas o teológicas con respecto a las cosas y opiniones intrascendentes mientras entre ustedes, excepto Jesucristo, y Él crucificado y el significado de su muerte redentora, sustitutiva y su resurrección.” Encuentro que la mayoría de las personas están continuamente involucradas en discusiones, desacuerdos y problemas intrascendentes, y debido a esto pierden gran parte de su tiempo. El resultado final es que nunca se hace nada importante. Los proyectos importantes nunca se terminan y nunca logran lo que Dios los llamó a hacer. Jesús estaba disgustado con la higuera que no dio fruto (Mateo 21:19). Él busca fruto en nuestras vidas. ¿Y usted? ¿Está dando fruto o está demasiado ocupado con cosas intrascendentes que siempre se interponen en el camino? Cuando Jesús te mira, ¿encontrará un árbol fructífero o un árbol anémico infructuoso? Pablo se dio cuenta de que su tiempo era precioso, por lo que vivió la vida a propósito de tal manera que se concentró conscientemente en la voluntad de Dios para su vida. ¿Dónde está tu enfoque hoy?
