Did you know that the God kind of love is the bond of unity?

The Apostle Paul instructed us in the Book of Colossions, chapter 3, to put on “love.” Interesting way of putting it. We can actually put on love. We can decide to put on love. It’s a decision, not just an emotion. Look at what Colossians 3:14 says in the Amplified version: “Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others].” The Lord put on love when He hung on the cross for you and me. He now instructs us to put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering and love. We can now “put on” this kind of love because of the nature of the new birth. He not only instructed us to do this, He showed us how. Now it’s our turn. The world will put on hate, racism, bad attitudes, envy, greed, favoritism, and the like. What will differentiate us in this day is what we “put on.” I have a question for you, what are you wearing today?

Colossians 3: 14-15 “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful”
