Are you daily and purposefully being thankful?

Hebrews 13:5 (Amplified version)
“Through Him, therefore, let us AT ALL TIMES offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that THANKFULLY acknowledge and confess and glorify His name”

Thankfulness is being grateful and expressing gratitude. Note that Scriptural gratitude is a fruit of our lips but It is also a discipline and part of our christian witness.

So in Hebrews 13:5, the writer reveals a powerful principle concerning thankfulness. He says that our sacrifice of praise includes lips that THANKFULLY acknowledge and confess and glorify His name. That means that being thankful is part of the praise that glorifies God. He also said that we are to at ALL TIMES offer this sacrifice of praise. So thankfulness is to be a daily, continual discipline and activity. A discipline is something one does even when they don’t want to do it. As an example, many people realize that they have to change their habits because they are out of shape and it has affected the quality of their lives. So they begin to change their habits. In the beginning it is very difficult because they have to break our of bad habits and actions, and they have to develop the proper disciplines of eating right and exercising. Their body fights them every step of the way. The process of developing good, new habits and disciplines is very difficult, but because they know the value and ultimate benefits of adopting these new disciplines, they forge ahead and retrain themselves to the daily application of embracing these new disciplines. In the same way, as one begins to make thankfulness a part of one’s daily life and discipline, one gets to see the benefits of a thankful life, which are many. God instructs us to make thankfulness a daily and continual part of our walk with God. Selah!
