It is easy to see one who walks and lives in the Spirit. Just look at their fruit. If one says they are Christian, they are saying that they are a Christ-follower. If they are a Christ-follower, one should see the fruit of the Spirit abounding in their lives.
Galations 5:22 and 23 shares what the fruit of the Spirit is: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law”. The previous verses, 19 – 22share the works of the flesh, which are: “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God”.
So it’s clear, if your life continues to manifest uncontrolled anger, hatred, contentions, jealousies, selfish ambitions, etc, as well as the other works of the flesh shared in the above verses, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. We must rise above this nature, and allow the fruit of the Spirit to begin to manifest in and through our lives. Love, joy, peace, kindness, as well as the other fruit will help to heal this nation. the fruit of the Spirit flowing in and through our lives will also reveal the love and grace of God to all those around us.
Galations 5:25 and 26 If We live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
