Fear not!

Is is easy today to get into a spirit of fear and concern. All one has to do is turn on the daily news. Drive-by shootings, gang violence, political upheaval, school shootings, and the list goes on. However, we must not give in to a spirit of fear. Paul said in 2 Timothy 1:7: ” For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. Jesus said that we are to occupy until He returns. This means that we cannot allow anything to paralyze us. We have a great purpose, and that is to let our light shine in our lives. Reject fear and worry. There is so much to do, and God is with us. He will protect and keep us. He is faithful to His promises.

Psalms 91:5&6 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

He covers us with His wings!

In Psalms 91:4, King David used the analogy of a mother bird protecting her little ones by covering them with her wings. It shows the tender love and care that God has for His people. There is also a sense of divine protection so that when the enemy comes our way, he cannot penetrate God’s divine protection. He adds that God’s faithful promises are as armor and protection. It is amazing to consider that when we believe God’s word, and meditate on it, His word guards our minds, our hearts, and our path/journey/purpose/destiny. Next time you see a mother bird taking care of her little ones, remember the love and care that Father God has for us!

Psalms 91:4 (NLT) – He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
