Victor Nazario is the senior pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship Inc., a growing, vibrant church located in the Bronx, NY. Both he and his wife, Gwendolyn, desire to see people connect with Christ as well as grow and mature in the knowledge of God and His Word. Pastor Nazario was the event manager for the 1996 Promise Keepers Conference “Break Down The Walls” at Shea Stadium in New York City; overseeing nearly 2,500 volunteers from churches around the U.S. He has also served as co-chairperson for the New York City March for Jesus, chairperson for the Manhattan March for Jesus, co-chairperson for the Harlem Prayer March, and as the Northeast regional director for Promise Keepers. Pastor Victor holds a Doctorate in Ministry and is the author of a book titled Leaders in the New Millennium. Due to his unique speaking and teaching style, he is called on to share Godly principles on leadership and other themes at various conferences, seminars, and churches throughout the year.

Have you ever heard a person say to you in defense of something wrong that they did: “My heart was in the right place”? According to the scriptures, the heart can be very deceitful. Jeremiah 17:9 says: “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? Your heart can deceive you into thinking that you’re in a good place and everything is ok. Yet, all is not well. Matthew 15: 18,19 says: “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” King David knew this, so he prayed to God that He would create in him a clean heart, and renew a loyal spirit within him (Psalms 51:10). Even if you are a born again Christian, you will always have to battle with your former nature. It is embedded in your flesh through habits. That is why we must renew our minds and hearts every day through prayer, daily study and meditation on God’s word and continually “watch” what comes out of our mouths. It is our responsibility to put a “guard” on our mouths so that we will only let out that which is pleasing to God and beneficial to humanity. We should all memorize and daily pray Psalms 51:10. God is able to create in you a clean heart and renew a loyal spirit within you.

¿Alguna vez escuchaste a alguien decirte en defensa de algo malo que hizo: “Mi corazón estaba en el lugar correcto”? Según las escrituras, el corazón puede ser muy engañoso. Jeremías 17: 9 dice: “El corazón humano es lo más engañoso que hay, y extremadamente perverso. ¿Quién realmente sabe qué tan malo es? Tu corazón puede engañarte para que pienses que estás en un buen lugar y que todo está bien. Sin embargo, no todo está bien. Mateo 15: 18,19 dice: “Pero las cosas que salen de la boca provienen del corazón, y contaminan a un hombre. Porque del corazón salen los malos pensamientos, asesinatos, adulterios, fornicaciones, robos, falsos testimonios, blasfemias .” El rey David sabía esto, así que oró a Dios para que creara en él un corazón limpio y renovara un espíritu fiel dentro de él (Salmos 51:10). Incluso si eres un cristiano nacido de nuevo, siempre tendrás que luchar con tu naturaleza anterior. Está incrustado en tu carne a través de los hábitos. Es por eso que debemos renovar nuestras mentes y corazones todos los días a través de la oración, el estudio diario y la meditación en la Palabra de Dios y continuamente “observar” lo que sale de nuestras bocas. Es nuestra responsabilidad poner una “guardia” en nuestras bocas para que solo dejemos salir lo que es agradable a Dios y beneficioso para la humanidad. Todos debemos memorizar y orar diariamente el Salmos 51:10. Dios puede crear en ti un corazón limpio y renovar un espíritu fiel dentro de ti.
