There are many people who say they are Christian, or followers of Christ. Yet, when we speak to “Christians,” their views are all over the place. some feel that we should live one way, and others feel that we should live another way. This will only create confusion, and as it relates to eternal life, only one book has the bedrock solid truth, and that it is sacred scriptures. 1 John 2: 3-5 says: “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.” Please read this verse again. We cannot just say we know God. Our experience might very well be wrong! We have to know and keep His commands. Anyone that claims that they are a “Christian” who does not follow God’s commands is a liar according to the scriptures. It’s an error to think that just because your mother or father serve God, you’re covered and everything is OK between you and God. We all need a personal relationship with God in Christ. James 1:21-22 says: Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Are you a doer or a hearer only?

Hay muchas personas que dicen que son cristianos, o seguidores de Cristo. Sin embargo, cuando hablamos con los “cristianos”, sus opiniones están por todas partes. algunos sienten que debemos vivir de una manera, y otros sienten que debemos vivir de otra manera. Esto solo creará confusión, y en lo que se refiere a la vida eterna, solo un libro tiene la verdad sólida fundamental, y es las sagradas escrituras. 1 Juan 2: 3-5 dice: “Sabemos que hemos llegado a conocer a Dios si obedecemos sus mandamientos. El que afirma: “Lo conozco”, pero no obedece sus mandamientos, es un mentiroso y la verdad no está en él. En cambio, el amor de Dios se manifiesta plenamente en la vida del que obedece su palabra. De este modo sabemos que estamos unidos a él”. Por favor lee este versículo otra vez. No podemos simplemente decir que conocemos a Dios. ¡Nuestra experiencia bien podría estar equivocada! Tenemos que conocer y guardar sus mandamientos. Cualquier persona que dice que es un “cristiano” que no sigue los mandamientos de Dios es un mentiroso de acuerdo con las escrituras. Es un error pensar que solo porque tus padres sirven a Dios, estás cubierto y todo está bien entre tú y Dios. Todos necesitamos una relación personal con Dios en Cristo. Santiago 1: 21-22 dice: Por lo cual, desechando toda inmundicia y abundancia de malicia, recibid con mansedumbre la palabra implantada, la cual puede salvar vuestras almas. Pero sean hacedores de la palabra, y no tan solamente oidores, engañándoos a sí mismos. ¿Eres un hacedor o un oyente solamente?
