In Proverbs 18:21, The Proverbist declared: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit”. Many have heard the saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” This is absolutely incorrect. Words are among the most powerful entities in this earth realm. God holds us accountable for every word that proceeds out of our mouths. Most people talk without thinking what the repercussions may be. We do this as children as we criticize other children in school. But even as we grow up, we continue to say and declare things that can either hurt us or others, and we are oblivious as to how it may hurt or destroy others. The Apostle James declared the person that can control their tongue is a perfect man (James 3:2)! Today, God’s Holy Word reminds us to use our words to speak life, restoration, health, joy, peace and salvation to others. There is great power in your your words.
