Which nature is ruling within you?

We all have the same internal struggle. The sinful nature within us fights against God’s will. Paul confessed  this very same struggle:

Romans 7: 21 – 25   “I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power[e] within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin”.

The answer is allowing the Holy Spirit to help you daily. The Spirit will help you overcome your weaknesses. He will guide you to God’s will. We all need a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus told us that after He returned to the Father, He will send the Holy Spirit, who will guide us to all truth. Welcome the Holy Spirit in your life today. Like Paul, you also need His daily direction and strength!

Galations 5: 16 – 17 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

Freedom is a gift and a responsibility!

I rejoice that I live in the United States. I have the freedom to worship God, to work hard and buy my own home, to take a vacation once in a while. Freedom is precious. It is also costly! It cost the lives of many soldiers. We must honor liberty and freedom by living as righteous citizens and do our part to promote good will and peace in our regions.

We are also free in Christ. We have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb. Our sins are forgiven. However, we must not use our liberty to sin and do whatever we please, instead, we must use this liberty to serve one another. Love delivered us. Love set us free. So, love must now flow through us  so that others can also see and embrace God’s love! Be a model of His love and serve this generation with grace and joy. This will please the heart of God!

Galations 5:13-15: “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!”
