Good Friday revealed the supreme love of God to humanity!

“Good Friday” is an ironic name for the time where Jesus underwent the worse torture at the hands of His enemies. It should have been called “Ominous Friday”, Disastrous Friday, or Horrific Friday. However, it is called ‘Good Friday” to highlight the love, kindness, grace and favor that God bestowed upon all of humanity. In the gospel of Matthew chapter 26th, it reveals that just before Jesus was arrested, He became sorrowful and deeply distressed, even unto death. He knew that He was just about to go through the process that would take Him to the cross. He knew that His beard would be ripped off. He knew that they would thrust a crown of thorns upon his scalp. He knew that he would be whipped until the skin in His back would be ripped off. He knew that He would have to hang on the cross. Yet, His love for us impelled Him to the cross! He became the Lamb of God for you and me. That is why it is called “Good Friday.” God’s goodness, love and kindness was revealed in the actions of our precious Lord and Savior. He is our Hero, our Savior, our Deliverer and our soon returning King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Have a wonderful Good Friday and precious Easter weekend!

Matthew 26: 36 – 38 “Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
