Have you considered why you react the way you do?

Have you every stopped a moment to consider why you act and react the way you do? Your actions, beliefs and reactions don’t happen randomly. They are a result of past teachings and  experiences. If you were mistreated as a child, you may have trouble trusting people as a grownup. You might find yourself behaving and acting like your parents. You might have gotten into trouble because you were hanging out with the wrong crowd. All of these experiences and mindsets will now manifest themselves in every aspect of your life unless you decide to identify the negative ones and begin the process of renewing your mind. Phillipians 4: 8 says: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” The things that we continuously meditate on help to form our thoughts, beliefs and actions. This is why we must begin to take control of our lives in several areas: Who we spend time with. What we read and meditate on. Prioritizing our relationship with God! God told Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8). Notice that it says as we meditate on His Word, we will make our way prosperous and have good success. Many live their lives with the belief that this is the way they are and they will never change. This is actually not true. You can begin to change your behaviors, thoughts, actions and reactions by renewing your mind in the Word of God and carefully choosing the right people to learn from and spend time with. It’s really up to you!

Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”
