He is with you. He never leaves nor forsakes you!

Psalm 91: 15
“He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.”

One of the most powerful and personal promises in the scriptures is that God will never leave nor forsake us.

This is one of the last things that Jesus promised to us just before He was taken up to Heaven. In the last verse of Matthew 28, He shares this: “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” It was so important that it is the last thing He said before He was received into the Heavenlies. If you knew that you were just about to leave this earth, what would you say to your family? Would it be: “Oh I wish that I could have worked some more overtime?” Or would you convey vital things like “I love you forever, love each other and look out for each other? Don’t forget to always put God first in your lives.” Of course it would be the latter. Well, Jesus’ last word to us was that He would always be with us. He knew that this was so important that He emphasized it to us. Read it again and think about it one moment:

“…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The writer of the book of Hebrews also reminded us of this very powerful truth:

Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Even when we are overwhelmed, when we sin, when we miss the mark, when our faith is shaken, He is there with us. Colossians 1: 27 says:

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Note that the verse declares that this was a mystery which He was now making known: Christ in you! If you are in Christ, He is with you, both now and forever. No weapon formed against you shall prosper! Rejoice that He is with you today!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are with me! You never leave me nor forsake me. This is your promise and You are not man that you should lie! You always honor your word and that brings me great comfort and peace. You said that in this world we would suffer tribulation, but to be of good cheer because You have overcome the world (John 16:33). Because You have overcome, I am confident because You are with me and You make all things work together for good for me and my family. Thank You for your love and presence. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen!
