It’s time to pray and intercede for our neighbors!

If there were any time prayer and intercession were necessary, it is now. Whether one realizes it or not, we have entered into a season of war and conflict. Our collective hearts have been impacted by the news of what is happening in Israel and the Middle East. And with the amazing access that we all have to world news and social media, we can all see in real time what is happening globally. Psalm 122: 6 & 7 says: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.” This is a time to pray for wisdom for our leaders, both nationally and internationally. The problems and issues seem insurmountable. But at times like this, I remember how God gave King Solomon supernatural wisdom to deal with seeming impossibilities. I now pray for Solomonic wisdom for our leaders, so that there would be a speedy end to this horrific war, and a long-lasting ceasefire for the benefit of all of the innocent victims who are suffering in Israel and in Gaza. God loves the world, and as Christians, we are called to reach the world with the Gospel. How we pray and intercede in the coming days can reflect the love of God to those around us. Hate cannot and will not heal us. Only love can, so now John 3:16 becomes even more relevant than ever. Let’s be a reflection of that love, and let’s pray for our neighbors, both locally and abroad. And more than just pray, let’s love our neighbors, just as the Lord Jesus taught us!
