I am amazed at just how many people covet or desire other people’s titles, jobs, salaries, influence, ministries, marriages and other similar things. Many don’t like who they are. They feel that if they had what “he or she has,” they would really be happy. What they don’t realize is that this is a work of the flesh. They have a “Keeping up with the Joneses” mentality, and being jealous of others blinds us to our own value. You are an original, and God made you to be fruitful and prosperous. However, if you don’t value who you are, you will be easily impressed by others, and at the same time you’ll look down on your self. Psalms 139:14 says “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well”. God declares that you are precious and unique, and He has already blessed and empowered you with everything you need to be an amazing asset to all those that you are called to minister to. Don’t bother desiring the home with the green grass across the street. They had to pay their own price to be there. Instead, decide today to cultivate that which God has already placed in your hands. Remember that Jesus multiplied the fish and the loaves, and He can multiply whatever you place in His hands!
Proverbs 12:12 – Thieves are jealous of each other’s loot, but the godly are well rooted and bear their own fruit.

Amen!! David desired and went after what Uriah had just as Ahab desired Naboth’s vineyard. Both the outcomes weren’t good. Covetous is greed which will cause a person to do anything to get what they want which turns into sin! We must be grateful to that which God has given us! If He hasn’t given it to us, He knows the reason why He hasn’t!
Amen sister Celeste. Well said!
