What kind of legacy are you creating?

In this new year, it is vital that we put a watch over our mouths to ensure that they words we are speaking are aligned with God’s word and will. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and as ambassadors for Christ, we need to understand that we represent the King in this earth realm. Therefore, we need to pray every day that God give us wisdom to speak as the oracles of God and not like those who do not care of the repercussions of their words. Watch what you say and do, because it is creating and environment and a legacy. The question is: is the legacy you are creating glorifying God or helping to destroy this generation?

Psalm 19:14: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.”

Are you acting like Adam or like Jesus?

Many people wonder why God became flesh and dwelled among humanity. Consider that when God created man, He made him the steward of this earth. He told man that he would be in charge on earth. What many do not know is that when God issues a decree, He Himself submits to His own decree. He honors His word (Psalms 138:2). So everything that is done on this earth is done by man. It is his responsibility, given by God Himself. When a building is built, it is built by man, not by God. God gave us the resources and wisdom, and we build it. Whenever God wants to do something on the earth realm, He seeks for a man to partner with Him. That’s why prayer is so important! Remember when God wanted to stop the rain because of Israel’s disobedience, He told Elijah to declare that it wouldn’t rain on earth. Even though it was God’s will in Heaven, it didn’t stop raining until Elijah (man) said so, and it didn’t rain for over 2-1/2 years. When God decided it was time to rain, He told the prophet to declare that it would begin to rain again, and when the prophet declared it on earth, it then began to rain again. Mankind is in charge in this earth realm. This law is so powerful that when God was ready to deal with the sin issue, He Himself became man and Jesus died on the cross to correct what another man messed up (Adam). As men and women, we are responsible for our words and actions. We have the power of life and death in our mouths. We can build and destroy with our actions. God gave us this authority. If we allow the the flesh to rule our minds and hearts, our actions will be destructive (Galations 5: 19-21). However, if we submit our authority to God’s word and Holy Spirit, the fruits of the spirit will flow and bring forth love, joy, peace, patience, mercy, humility, goodness, longsuffering and temperance (Galations 22-23). Have you submitted your authority to God like Jesus did in His earthly ministry, or are you walking in pride and arrogance because of your authority? Are you walking like Adam or like Jesus? It’s your choice!

Romans 5:19 (AMP) For just as through one man’s disobedience [his failure to hear, his carelessness] the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of the one Man the many will be made righteous and acceptable to God and brought into right standing with Him.
