Right now, people all over the world are being encouraged to say something about the death of Mr. George Floyd. There are gatherings and peaceful protests being conducted in the UK, Pretoria, and even Sydney. This is understood and appreciated. It will help to heal the pain and wounds that exist, not only in the United States, but in many parts of the world. Sometimes there has to be an outburst and cry for change and justice. This is what helps to shake the system of any and all injustice. In the same way, we also need outbursts of love and good deeds today, because justice without mercy and love will not bring change of the heart. Hebrews 10:24, 25 (NLT) says: “Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near”. The Apostle tells us to think of ways to encourage each other to outbursts of love! Many are encouraging violence and destruction of property, but we are anointed to encourage an environment of love, healing, restoration and peace. Once brings destruction. The other brings life. It’s time for outbursts of love!
Are you still fellowshipping even though we haven’t been able to meet at the church building?
The writer to the Hebrews reminds us that it is an important responsibility to gather together on an ongoing basis. There are many ways to gather. Even though we cannot meet at the church building at the moment, we can still gather via Zoom, Facebook live, Youtube live, as well as other platforms. We are the body of Christ, not the building. God’s word instructs us to continually meet together to pray, to worship and to encourage each other, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Don’t allow the enemy of our souls to deceive you into thinking that it is ok to not fellowship for now since you can’t get to the church building. It will be there when we get back, but for now, be part of the “stream team” and meet via social media, phone, and any other way you can. That is part of our assignment and many are waiting for your encouragement at the fellowship!
