It’s better when you work with the team that God has given you!

The Bible says that two are better than one. Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 says: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” If you look at all great champions, you will see that behind the scenes, their victories came as a result of teamwork. Even in sports like golf or tennis, even they have a team helping them in their championship pursuits. Actually, when one is alone, it is much more difficult to achieve anything of great worth. When you work together with others with similar interests, the projects get done quicker, and more gets accomplished. God was very angry with the Amalekites, because they attacked the older, weaker Israelites who fell behind when they were traveling from Egypt to the promised land. Since the older Israelites could not keep up with the team, they were in essence, alone. Because of that, the enemy was able to successfully attack them. Jesus said that the prayer of agreement is a very powerful prayer. He also said that wherever two or three are gathered together, He is there in their midst (Matthew 18:19,20). God even corrected the prophet Elijah when he said that he was the only one left that was standing for Him. God corrected the prophet by telling him: “I have seven thousand that have not bowed their knee to Baal (1 Kings 19:14-18). So Elijah was not really alone. It’s time to realize that you are not supposed to do things all by yourself. God has given you those who will work with you, pray with you, rejoice with you, cry with you. You are part of a great and anointed body. Be encouraged today because there are more with us than with the enemy!

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

But do you care about me?

When the Lord Jesus willingly went to the cross for all of humanity, He was revealing the highest level of love and care in all of history. He had previously washed all of the disciples feet and then taught them to wash each other’s feet. This spoke of the importance of serving and caring for one another. 1 Corinthians 12:25 says: “that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another”. As we receive a clear revelation of the love of God, not just that He loves us, but that He also loves “through” us, we will realize that as we love each other, it’s as the Lord Himself is loving through us. Jesus said if we were to give even a cup of water to one of His “little ones,” it was as if we were serving it to Him. The world wants to know what can we do for them. But the higher call is how can the love of Christ be revealed through each of us today!
