The merciful will obtain mercy!

The Psalmist declared this about our Heavenly Father: “The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy” Psalms 103:8. That is a powerful revelation, especially since so many believe that God is not a loving God. The Lord Jesus also confirmed this fact in Luke 6:36 – “Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful“. Not only did He confirm that God is merciful, He also told us to be merciful just as He is merciful. There is a special blessing to those who allow God’s mercy to flow through them. Note what the Lord Jesus revealed to us in the Beatitudes: Matthew 5:7 – “Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy”. When you allow mercy to flow from you to others, God promises that mercy will be extended to you in your time of need. So the next time you feel the need to get revenge, why don’t you release mercy instead. God will be pleased, and mercy will come back to you!

Proverbs 11:17 – “The merciful man does good for his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh”.
