Psalm 91:2 says: “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” The word refuge means: “shelter or protection from danger or distress; something to which one has recourse in difficulty”. This means that God is a shelter where we can go and be protected from danger or distress. He is our rock where we can go to when we experience difficulties in life. He is also our fortress. A fortress is: “a castle or very well constructed stronghold where the enemy cannot access. It is a place of security or survival”. This means that God is our place of protection. In Him, we can be secure. He protects us from all the attacks of the enemy. Declare Psalm 91:2 every day over you and your family! He is our refuge and fortress, and we can trust Him!
His Promises are Yes and Amen!
2 Corinthians 1:20 – “For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him amen, to the glory of God by us.” There are many promises of God in the scriptures. His word is truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. When we come to Jesus, we are coming to the Truth. He is also Faithful. As you study the word, write down the promises that you find, and quote them to yourself and your family often. Remember that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by His word. For every challenge, there is a promise. For every crisis, there is a promise. For every need, there is a promise. When you find a promise, include it in your prayers. Pray and declare His word. He is faithful and He honors His word (Psalms 138:2). So the question is: Are you equipping yourself with His word every day so that you can pray and declare scripturally, or are you praying emotionally and without knowledge of his promises? God might not say yes to all of your desires, but He will always say yes and amen to His word!
