He’s got your back!

Did you know that when someone attacks you, God takes it personally? In Exodus 23:22 it says: “But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” That is a powerful promise. Mark 9:41 & 42 says: “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.” When someone attacks you, you can be sure that Heaven is aware, and that retribution will come. You can be confident that you have “Heavenly backup!” The truth is we don’t have to fear because those that are with us are more than those who are with them! (2 Kings 6:16)

Exodus 23:22: “But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.”

2 Kings 6:16-17So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”  And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

They won’t succeed!

I have often appreciated Romans 8:31 which says: “What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” However, I have asked myself, If God is for me, then why do I still have foes or enemies, since the verse says” who can be against us?” I always understood innately that God would protect me from my enemies, but I wasn’t entirely clear on this verse. Then I read this verse from the Amplified version and everything cleared up for me. Here is what it says: “What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us?” That really clarified this truth. It’s not that God won’t permit people to come against us. It’s that no attack that is launched against us will succeed. People can attack us, but their attacks will ultimately fail. God sets a table before us in the presence of our enemies (Psalms 23:5)! They will see the banquet table, but they won’t be able to stop your blessing. God will work all things out for our good. Remember that today!
