If God is for you……?

One of the most encouraging things you can hear when you are going through a difficult time, is your friend says to you, “don’t worry, I got your back!” That is the modern way of saying that your friend is watching out for you. That let’s you know that you are not alone.  Are you aware that God has declared that to us? The Lord Jesus said that He is with us and will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5). The Lord reminds you today that He is with you, and if He is with you, who can be against you that would be more powerful? You are on the winning side!

Romans 8:31-32 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

The Apostle Paul did this for Timothy

Part of the Christian walk is that of sharing our faith. That means that you have to have something to share! Paul told Timothy to teach the truths that Paul had taught him to other trustworthy people. Did you catch that? Timothy had spent time with Paul, so he was able to learn from Paul. Timothy was mentored by Paul. He traveled with Paul. He gave Paul the opportunity to impart his Godly knowledge and wisdom. Timothy’s relationship with Paul allowed Timothy to be effectively mentored. Today, many people want to to be important and to be influential, but they don’t want to go through the mentorship process. They do not want to submit to anyone. Hence, they will not be able to receive any real, anointed wisdom from experienced leaders. Any real, effective godly leader was mentored by another effective godly leader. Timothy became qualified to be a great leader, because of his humility. He submitted to God, and the person who God provided as a mentor and teacher.

2 Timothy 2:2 “You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others”.
