Forgiveness is part of our new nature!

Most know that we are to forgive our debtors, or those who wrong us, but in Matthew 6: 12, it says: “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors”. The Father forgives our wrongs and debts, but He expects us to also release forgiveness  to those who have wronged us! The love that God extends to us is beyond comprehension. However, as His children and representatives, we have the privilege, honor and responsibility to also extend forgiveness to others just as He extends us His forgiveness and love. The word Gospel means “good news.” What better news than the fact that God in Christ has forgiven us! In the same manner, we get the privilege to extend God’s love through us as we forgive those who have wronged us. Forgiveness is difficult, but with God’s help and strength, we can forgive those who wrong us. When we extend the gift of forgiveness, we are helping to give someone a second chance. God has given us new life, so with his help, we can also give new life to broken relationships.
