Never allow this to deceive you!

Ephesians 5:6 instructs us to not allow anyone to deceive us with vain words. The meaning of the word vain is quite revealing. It means: Undue or excessive pride, futility or ineffectualness, unsuccessful, useless, no real value, idle, worthless, to no end, without success or result, in an irreverent or blasphemous manner”.  The scriptures teach us that we are not  to take the name of the Lord our God in vainDeuteronomy 5:11 (RSV).  Vain words are illusory in nature, but they lack any real substance, and in most cases involve foolish pride. Even much of today’s commercials and marketing involve vain words. This week, pay special attention to words that people speak. You will find a lot of vain words being tossed around with no respect or regard to truth or righteousness.

Ephesians 5:6 “Let no man deceive you with vain words…”

It’s Time!

Have you ever heard the statement “It’s time”? Well, the Prophet Isaiah declares “It’s time” for you to arise. Yes, It’s time to arise from the place where circumstances have kept you. It’s time to arise and reject the lies of the enemy. It’s time to arise to a new life and mindset; one where you shine brightly and the glory of the Lord radiates from your life and actions. It’s time because the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Isaiah 60:1 (AMPL) Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Come on, you have His Word. You have His Spirit. You are a new creation. Why settle for the depression, the loss, the futility and the circumstances of the past? Your opportunity is here, right now. You now have the mic. You have the podium. God has declared: “It’s time.” Will you answer the call?
