We must give thanks for this!

The Apostle Paul thanked God for qualifying us to share in the inheritance of the saints. He was grateful for what God in Christ has already done for us. It’s not something we have to pay or sacrifice for; our Lord Jesus paid the price on the cross for us. Not only that, He also rescued us from the dominion of darkness and by His grace transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son. That is something to be eternally grateful for! We will never experience a love that great and profound. Rejoice today, because the penalty of our past sins and failures have been canceled. We are forgiven. We are loved! We have an eternal inheritance. We are now Kingdom citizens!

Colossions 1:12-14 “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light. For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty]

He made us worthy of this honor!

When I consider the supernatural nature of God’s love to us, I continually stand in awe at the level of grace and kindness that He has bestowed upon us in Christ! Because of the gift of His sacrifice, He has adopted us into His family and has qualified us to share in the inheritance that He has for all of His saints. Not only that, He has also made us fit to stand in this grace. Colossians 1:12 (AMPC) says: “Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God’s holy people) in the Light”.

The Apostle Paul prayed that we would be grateful to God for letting us have part in this inheritance. So my question to you today is: Are you grateful for what God has already given us? Are we grateful for His goodness in the land of the living? Are you grateful that He has adopted you into His family? Truly we have a lot to be grateful for in this holiday season. Jesus IS the reason for the season!

Colossians 1:12 (CEV) “I pray that you will be grateful to God for letting you have part in what he has promised his people in the kingdom of light”
