I’ve heard this thought so many times from parents: “I want my child to do better and to reach greater heights than me.” I feel the same way. Parents feel so proud when their children accomplish great things. They will show you their pictures and videos, and will talk all day long about the successes of their children, It’s as if they themselves had achieved those victories. Well, guess what: God, who is the perfect Father, wants you to do great things! In Matthew 7:11, Jesus said: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Your Heavenly Father has blessed you with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. He has already empowered you to live victoriously in this life. You have been “born again.” You now have His DNA. Jesus said we would do greater things: “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12 (AMP). Note that He said we would do greater things than He did “in extent and outreach.” As part of His Body, we will go to places He never went in His earthly ministry. We will heal more people than He did because His Body is all over the world. You are part of His Body. He has already empowered you. Your heavenly Father has already authorized you. It’s time to reject any hindering thoughts, past failures, negative words, fears and doubts, and begin to be who God already authorized you to be. There are many who are waiting for you to show up as God’s ambassador and release the life-giving anointing and gifting that is within you! Your heavenly Father will be very pleased with your successes and victories. Your victories are His victories!
Your Words will justify or condemn you!
In Matthew 12: 34-37 (shown below), Jesus taught on the power of our words, and the connectivity of our words and our heart. the source of your words come from our hearts. Therefore, we need to be very careful about what we hear and see on a daily basis, because that is what goes in the heart. This is why the Holy Scriptures teach that we are to meditate on God’s word. It also teaches on Phillipians 4:8: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there isanything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” This is vital because we speak, make decisions, react, behave, lead, impact and affect others from the base of what is in our hearts! Jesus said by our words, we will give an account for every word that we speak. He also said that we would be justified or condemned by our words. Words can heal or destroy. Words can bless or curse. Words can encourage or discourage. There is life and death in the power of our words. In James 3, the Apostle James revealed that the tongue even though it is small, is very powerful and brings forth great fires. It can defile the whole body. It can be an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. We have to take responsibility for our words, and the information that we allow into our hearts. We have to live and speak purposefully. Our mouths need to be rededicated to God! Take this day to listen to the things that you and others say. You will be quite surprised at how much doubt, anger, division and discouragement you will hear. Holy Father, sanctify our hearts, minds and mouths so that we would be pleasing unto thee!
Matthew 12: 34-37 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
