When people are asked what would they want as gifts, most would ask for material things. God was pleased when Solomon asked only for wisdom when asked. God gave him wisdom, but He also blessed him with great resources. It’s sad to consider that most people chase after things that in reality will not satisfy in the end. Many seek things to get joy, but when we please God, He blesses the faithful with wisdom, knowledge and joy. Some are not even aware that God will transfer the wealth of the wicked to the just. Read what King Solomon shared about this: Ecclesiastes 2:26 (JUB) “For God gives to the man that is good in his sight wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to the one that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.” So instead of chasing after things, pursue God and His goodness. When you seek God and His righteousness first, all of the things will be “added” to you!
The good work already began!
Confidence is: “faith or belief that one will act in a right, proper, or effective way; the quality or state of being certain.” Paul used this word as he described the good work that God is doing in our lives. Paul was confident not only that God has begun a good work in us; He was also confident that God will complete it! Today, God wants you to know that He is working a good work in you. He is ordering your steps. Even when you “mess up,” He will help you to get back on track. One of the main things that the devil attacks is our faith and confidence in God’s ability to accomplish what He promised us. The enemy is after your faith and confidence. Don’t ever give it up. Be like Paul…..He had confidence in God’s promises!
Phillipians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
