This will defend you like nothing else can!

The word defense means: capability of resisting attack; means or method of defending or protecting oneself, one’s team, or another. Defense therefore is an extremely important capability. Ecclesiastes 7:12 says: “For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.” So when it comes to defense, both money and wisdom are strategic elements to effective defense. Our nation regularly buys amazing, fully loaded fighter planes and battle cruisers to protect its borders. They cost hundreds of millions of dollars, but it’s a worthwhile investment. Wisdom also protects us from committing stupid acts that can hurt us or get us killed. . Wisdom can also get us out of dangerous situations. Ephesians 6 speaks of the armor of God. Most all of the armor is defensive in nature (soldier’s armor), but one element is for attack purposes, and that is the sword of the spirit. Think about it….that is the word of God which is the wisdom of God. His wisdom can protect us, but it will also give life eternal to those who believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ! If I had to pick one, I’d go with wisdom each and every time, because if you have wisdom, you can always acquire money, but many who have money, lack the kind of wisdom that will give them life eternal. What is your priority?

Ecclesiastes 7:12 “For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense,
But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.”

Could God depend on you?

In the old days, if one wanted to get a message to someone in a far place, they would use various means, such as tying a message on the leg of a pigeon, or sending a  “marathon runner.” We then graduated to mail carriers. And now, we have e-mail, newspapers, the network news media, etc. One thing we have always demanded, is that the message get sent correctly and in its entirety. A message sent incorrectly could be devastating. Undependable messengers could cause a lot of trouble and confusion. Even today, we are hearing reports that our network news many times sends out faulty information that hurts people, and they are then forced to retract the story and issue an apology. Some times the false narrative is so destructive that the damage cannot be undone. We need honest and reliable messengers! In the same way, God depends on us to share His gospel message to this world. He trusts us to send it correctly and completely. If we send the wrong message, it could lead people astray, and could even cause them to lose out on salvation. Determine today to be a trustworthy and wise messenger of the gospel of Jesus Christ! In this way, you will release healing and life everywhere you go, and you will please the heart of God!

Proverbs  13:17 (NLT) – An undependable messenger causes a lot of trouble, but the trustworthy and wise messengers release healing wherever they go.
