Have you hit rock bottom?

Humans have a tendency of looking down at people who are going through hard times or who have experienced some kind of failure.  They pass by and nod their heads in disapproval. Yet,

in order to achieve anything of merit, one has to go through many difficult moments.  Moments like problems, persecutions, patience, long-suffering, setbacks, mistakes, starting over from scratch, etc.

Mark Hansen once said: “Shifting your perspective about rock bottom takes a shift in your thinking. Think about the words “rock bottom”. Rock is a solid word. Things that are strong and tough are described as “rock solid.” Even the Bible describes houses that will never be destroyed as being built on rock. So, if you have hit rock bottom, it’s a pretty solid place to be. It’s actually a great springboard for the rest of your life”.

Dr. David Jeremiah says: “When God asks one of His servants to endure difficulty, He intends it for His glory and our ultimate good.  Neither the devil, nor the lions, know what to do with people who refuse to be consumed by their culture or their enemies”

Denis Waitley once said: ”It is a psychological fact that we cherish most what we have worked hardest to gain. The further we have come, the sweeter the celebration at the destination when we arrive.”

Going through struggles can either break you down or build strength and stamina within you. Always remember that the reason why we walk through the valley is that we’re on a journey.  You’re not pitching a tent in the valley, you’re just passing though.  The reason why you’re passing through is because you’ve seen something beyond the valley. Now is not the time to give up or give in. If you have hit rock bottom, cry out to God and He will give you new strength, new joy, new boldness, new outlook, new determination. You are not alone. The Lord Jesus is with you. He promised that He will never leave nor forsake us. In Him, we can do all things because He strengthens us!

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”
