His Word is The Rock!

Matthew 7: 24-27 (TLB)
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

We are all flawed. We all make mistakes. We miss the mark. It happens to all of us. This is why we must go to God’s word for wisdom, advice and instruction. His word is truth. His word is The Rock. Jesus taught that if we would hear AND OBEY His word, it is similar to building your home on solid bedrock. Just as long as we stand on His word, we are safe. We stand on solid ground.

For this reason, when a developer is going to build a new skyscraper, the team first continuously digs until they reach the bedrock. Only then do they begin the process of building the foundation of the building. It has to withstand the weight, pressure and any weather conditions, or else people could die if the building collapses. They know the importance of building on rock. Even science and engineering confirm this truth! Even now in the season of Covid, it is even more important and essential that we build our lives, relationships, businesses and ministries on the rock. World views are changing and shifting so quickly that it is hard to know what to stand on. It’s time to get back to God’s word. Build your house (life) on the rock. His word is your anchor!

Psalms 119: 89 “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in Heaven”

Prayer:
Thank You Heavenly Father that I can build my life, home, relationships, business and ministry on your promises and precepts. Your word is my moral compass, my life GPS, my stability and security both now and in eternity. I am so grateful that You sent your word so that we would know our purpose and how to live. Because of your word, I know who I am and what I am here to do. I will continue to build my house on the rock. So even when the storms of life come, they will NOT be able to destroy my home because it is built on the rock. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen!
