Part of the the training that the Lord Jesus gave the Apostles was the importance of never giving up and losing heart in the midst of any crises or issues. Luke 18:1 says: “Now Jesus was telling the disciples a parable to make the point that at all times they ought to pray and not give up and lose heart “. Jesus never said anything without an important reason. He knew that we would encounter great difficulties in life and because of this, we need to know that we have powerful weapons of warfare: Prayer and standing on His promises! John 16:33 (Ampl) says: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding]. Today, be encouraged. God reminds you that He already won the battle for you. Stand strong in the faith. Put on the whole armor of God. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7). Stand in the victory that Jesus already won for us!
In Him, we have the privilege of access!
Access is a powerful privilege. It is not automatic. Someone needs to pay for it, or someone needs to have a great relationship in order to get access. We have to pay for our tickets before getting access to a ballgame. We have to pay in order to see a movie. I always had permission to enter my mother’s house because of my unique relationship with her. I had sonship access and privileges. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, access is: permission, liberty, or ability to enter, approach, or pass to and from a place or to approach or communicate with a person or thing, freedom or ability to obtain or make use of something. Ephesians 2: 18 says: “For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” This is a privilege! The Lord Jesus paid the price for access to the Father. The original Greek word for access means: “To lead or bring into the Presence. By God’s favor, we have the privilege of acceptance in Christ, and by this we have access to His Presence. We have freedom to enter THROUGH His assistance. We could not do this on our own.” This means that not only do we have access to the Father in Christ by faith, but it also means that He helps us to enter in. He gives us assistance. He wants for us to be close to Him, and He wants to be close to us, so He gave us access! Jesus already paid the price, so cease from any struggle that you may be going through and enter in. This is part of our inheritance as sons and daughters!
