Jesus is the Good Shepherd!

Psalms 23:1 – “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want!”

King David had an amazing revelation of God’s love and provision. In Psalms 23, he describes God’s love and provision through the eyes of a sheep. The Lord is my Shepherd! Since he was also a shepherd, he knew what it took to make sure the sheep were always happy and taken care of. He said: The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He realized that God was His provider, and that he was secure since God is his Shepherd. Paul said that all of our needs are met, according to His riches in glory!

Look at how “I shall not want” is translated in other Bible verses:

AMPC: “I shall not lack”

CEB: CEV: ERV: TPT:
“I lack nothing”
“I will never be in need”
“I will always have everything I need”
“I will always have more than enough”

Are you getting the message? He is the Good Shepherd! He provides for his sheep. We are the sheep of His pasture!

Be reminded today that the Lord is your Shepherd. Bring your lack, challenges, struggles, and issues to Him, because he will gently lead you to provision, satisfaction, joy, peace and divine protection.

Prayer:

Thank You Heavenly Father that You are the Good Shepherd. All of my needs are met according your riches in glory! I am grateful that You care for my family and me! Life can be so unfair and even quite overwhelming at times, so I am comforted by your presence and provision. I will continue to declare it continuously: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want!” In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen!
