The Lord Jesus called us salt and light

Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless”.

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden”.

Salt
* It enhances it’s environment – Increases taste and flavor. Wherever we are, we are to affect our environment
* It is a  preservative – In the old days, people would preserve their meats by applying salt to it
* It is a healer. It can help you get over a cold by doing hot water salt gargles.
* It purifies. Our presence should purify our surroundings.
* It is an Irritant –  If you place salt on a wound, it will sting.

Light
* Brings revelation
* Gives clarity
* Gives clear vision. Ps 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path”
* Exposes what was hidden in the dark
* Brings productivity because most living creatures need light in order to effectively work.

As we allow our light to shine during this crisis, it will draw people back to God, and will provide comfort, faith and peace to those whom you minister to.

Matthew 5: 14,15 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven”

Let your good works shine during this crisis! The world is in desperate need of healing salt and revealing light!
