This “so called Christian” is a phony!

There are many people who say they are Christian, or followers of Christ. Yet, when we speak to “Christians,” their views are all over the place.  some feel that we should live one way, and others feel that we should live another way. This will only create confusion, and as it relates to eternal life, only one book has the bedrock solid truth, and that it is sacred scriptures. 1 John 2: 3-5 says: “Here’s how we can be sure that we’ve truly come to know God: if we keep his commands. If someone claims, “I have come to know God by experience,” yet doesn’t keep God’s commands, he is a phony and the truth finds no place in him. But the love of God will be perfected within the one who obeys God’s Word.” Please read this verse again. We cannot just know God “by experience.” Our experience might very well be wrong! We have to know and keep His commands. Anyone that claims that they are a “Christian” who does not follow God’s commands is a phoney according to the scriptures. It’s an error to think that just because your mother or father serve God, you’re covered and everything is OK between you and God. We all need a personal relationship with God in Christ. James 1:21-22 says: Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Are you a doer or a hearer only?

Do not give the enemy any opportunities!

Here is a powerful revelation for your Monday: “Nor give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:27. We have authority in Christ to resist the enemy. However, he is a deceiver, and a slanderous one at that. That same verse in the TPT version of the Bible says: “Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!” The enemy, by use of accusations and deception, is always attempting to manipulate you into giving him an opportunity to lead you into sin, whether or not it is to get you into holding a grudge, nurturing anger, harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness. If he can get you into any of those states, He can manipulate you and paralyze your faith. God reminds us today that we are not to give him any place or any opportunity in our lives. Live a live of love and forgiveness, and if something gets you angry, don’t keep it. Resolve your issues quickly and he won’t be able to manipulate or control you. After all, greater is He that is within you than he that is in the world! Read this verse one more time in the Amplified version: ” And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].
