Sometimes you have to stand alone!

There are times that we will have to learn how to be obedient to God, even though it may cost you important relationships.  Standing with God, by its very nature, means standing alone from time to time because of your distinctive principles and decisions.

Dr. Myles Munroe shares in his book Becoming a Leader, “Leadership is lonely, because to lead means you must be out in front, ahead of the followers. Also, because the leader is the one with the guiding vision and purpose, he sees the end from the beginning and must live both the process and destination, all at the same time.”

As you serve God in the midst of your family and friends, know that there will be times where you will model to them what it is to walk in righteousness. People are looking to see genuine Christ followers in this day. Are you one of them?

Matthew 19:29 “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”

There is a payoff for this!

Our Heavenly Father is righteous and honorable. He does not hold one responsible for the sins of another. Ezekiel 18:20 (Amp) states: “The person who sins [is the one that] will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the sin of the father, nor will the father bear the punishment for the sin of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on himself.” Many look at the unrighteous and wonder why it seems like they get away with everything. Don’t ever be deceived; all that they trust in will eventually fail. But for the righteous, our Heavenly Father will reward them with blessings, even though they might suffer persecution for a season. God is faithful and He will bless the righteous!

Proverbs 11:31 – If the righteous will be rewarded on the earth [with godly blessings], How much more [will] the wicked and the sinner [be repaid with punishment]!
