Are you acting like Adam or like Jesus?

Many people wonder why God became flesh and dwelled among humanity. Consider that when God created man, He made him the steward of this earth. He told man that he would be in charge on earth. What many do not know is that when God issues a decree, He Himself submits to His own decree. He honors His word (Psalms 138:2). So everything that is done on this earth is done by man. It is his responsibility, given by God Himself. When a building is built, it is built by man, not by God. God gave us the resources and wisdom, and we build it. Whenever God wants to do something on the earth realm, He seeks for a man to partner with Him. That’s why prayer is so important! Remember when God wanted to stop the rain because of Israel’s disobedience, He told Elijah to declare that it wouldn’t rain on earth. Even though it was God’s will in Heaven, it didn’t stop raining until Elijah (man) said so, and it didn’t rain for over 2-1/2 years. When God decided it was time to rain, He told the prophet to declare that it would begin to rain again, and when the prophet declared it on earth, it then began to rain again. Mankind is in charge in this earth realm. This law is so powerful that when God was ready to deal with the sin issue, He Himself became man and Jesus died on the cross to correct what another man messed up (Adam). As men and women, we are responsible for our words and actions. We have the power of life and death in our mouths. We can build and destroy with our actions. God gave us this authority. If we allow the the flesh to rule our minds and hearts, our actions will be destructive (Galations 5: 19-21). However, if we submit our authority to God’s word and Holy Spirit, the fruits of the spirit will flow and bring forth love, joy, peace, patience, mercy, humility, goodness, longsuffering and temperance (Galations 22-23). Have you submitted your authority to God like Jesus did in His earthly ministry, or are you walking in pride and arrogance because of your authority? Are you walking like Adam or like Jesus? It’s your choice!

Romans 5:19 (AMP) For just as through one man’s disobedience [his failure to hear, his carelessness] the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of the one Man the many will be made righteous and acceptable to God and brought into right standing with Him.

Your prayers make things happen!

Jesus taught this powerful principle in the Lord’s prayer: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” We are to ask God every day for His will to be done on earth, in our sphere of influence. When we take our place as His stewards and take authority and responsibility for our region via our prayers and scriptural declarations, that is when we see His will revealed on Earth. God partners with His Body for His will to be done on Earth. As an example, God told Elijah to declare that it would not rain in the region, so when Elijah declared God’s will on earth, it stopped raining. Even though it was God’s will, it didn’t stop raining until Elijah declared it. Similarly, when God wanted it to rain again over two years later, He told Elijah to declare that it would rain, so when Elijah declared in on the Earth realm, it began to rain. (James 5:17) The key here is that when God created us, He declared that we are His stewards on this Earth. Whenever God declares anything, it becomes a law in Heaven and Earth, so man is in charge because God said so! Because of this, God Himself submits to His own word, so when He does something on Earth, He works with and through mankind, who are His stewards on Earth. Even when it was time to address the sin issue, God had to become man and die on the cross, because man is the authorized agent to deal with matters pertaining to Earth. Your prayers are powerful and needed in this day. James 5:16 “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Nothing happens until we pray and declare God’s word on Earth, over our families, our ministries, our businesses and our communities! Take responsibility and ensure that you are daily praying even as our Lord commanded.
