If you have this, you will succeed!

The word prosper has various meanings. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, prosper means: To succeed; To achieve; To become strong; To flourish. We can succeed in school. We can succeed with a project. We can succeed in business. When one prospers, this means that they have accomplished what they set out to do. The world sees prospering as being able to achieve great riches, great influence, becoming famous, etc. However, the Apostle John saw the act of prospering in a different way. In 3 John 1: 2, he taught that truly prospering in life, requires a strong spiritual connection and relationship with God. As our soul spiritually prospers, it the gives way to success in every area of our lives, and good health to our body and mind. When we prosper in soul, there is no striving to be better than anyone else. You are in sync with God and His will for your life. And, since you are unique, you don’t have to compare yourself to anyone else. The Apostle John prayed that for all of us. I echo that prayer for you today. Beloved, I pray that your soul prosper today, and in that process, I know that you will also prosper in your life, and you will be in good health!

3 John 1: 2 (Amplified) “Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].”

Bless the Lord, O my soul!

When the phrase “bless” the Lord is used in Psalms 103, it is used to praise, glorify and speak well of Almighty God. It is not only right to bless and praise Him every day. It is also necessary for us to do so, because in praising and worshiping Him, we are remembering His goodness, His kindness, His blessings and benefits that He bestows on us every day. David “blessed” the Lord every day. He would even remind His soul to bless the Lord and not forget all His benefits (Psalms 103). He had developed a discipline of blessing the Lord every single day. Whatever we focus and speak about every day, stays close to our heart. This is a powerful principle. God told Joshua to meditate on His word every day so that he could prosper in all that God had given him to do.  The Lord Jesus told us to pray the “Our Father” every day. It’s time to ensure that part of our daily disciplines include “Blessing” the Lord every day. He has to be number one in our lives. This way, we will never forget what and who is really important in our lives.

Psalms 103: 1-2Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits”
