This is sweet and healing like honey!

We have heard that there is power in our words. Well, we can actually promote healing to the body and spirit, and release sweetness to our souls. Proverbs 16:24 (TPT) “Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits”. The Amplified Bible states it this way: “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweet and delightful to the soul and healing to the body.” We know that honey is a superfood. It is also a healing and anti-bacterial in nature. The Proverbist compared pleasant words to honey. Did you know this? This is vital because we have access to family, friends, neighbors and co-laborers. We can choose to be healers by disciplining the words we speak so that others will hear words of life and healing. Let your words release grace, love and pleasant, life-giving words in your sphere of influence. Remember: Jesus said: I came to give life, and life in abundance. Be an extension of His love. This generation desperately needs this!

This is truly a precious treasure!

I was amazed when I heard that Babe Ruth’s baseball shirt was just sold at auction for over a million dollars! People will pay great money for what they consider to be great treasures. Unfortunately, most of the “so-called” treasures that people run after only have a short-term value. It’s only valuable for maybe several generations. However, God’s treasures are eternal. Psalms 19:10 (TPT) says: “The rarest treasures of life are found in his truth. That’s why I prize God’s word like others prize the finest gold. Nothing brings the soul such sweetness as seeking his living words.” God’s promises and wisdom are treasures that far surpass the value of any earthly treasure, including gold and silver. Those who love, value and seek His truth find that they bring sweetness to the soul. Another translation says that His words are like honey and the honeycomb (NKJV). Many of those who have earthly treasures still do not have any peace and joy in their hearts as these treasures cannot give peace and joy. But those who seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness have access to the peace that passes understanding and the joy of the Lord, which is our strength! And as we seek His Kingdom first, God promises to “add” all of the other earthly needs to them (Matthew 6:33). What is the treasure that your heart longs for?
