The Truth will set us free!

God’s word is the absolute truth!  In John 17:17, Jesus confirmed this point: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth”. In John 8:32, Jesus said: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” He was letting everyone know that He and His word are not only the truth, it is also the truth that will make us free! Jesus confirms this in John 14:6: “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.

Paul also confirms that the truth is in Jesus: Ephesians 4:21 ” if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus”.

We need to know this because the Apostle Paul instructed us to put on the whole armor of God. Part of the armor is that we have to gird our loins with truth. Truth will protect us from the lies of the enemy. Truth will show us the way to go, and the paths to avoid. Truth will set us free. Receive His Truth today. Jesus is The Truth!

Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,

Grow up!

Paul shared with the Ephesians that the goal of discipleship was to grow to maturity, and from that posture, we would be able to speak the truth to each other in love. Today, the only thing that people want to hear is what makes them happy, or only what they agree with. Paul said that in the last days, people would have itching ears: 2 Timothy 4:3-4 – For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. We are seeing this today. It’s time to grow up in Christ and put away anything that would turn one away from the truth. Jesus called Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Let’s speak the truth in love, and help others to find the truth!

Ephesians 4:15 – Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.
