There are various, important disciplines we must have in our lives to grow in our faith. Here are two very important ones. First, we must have a daily dedicated study time in God’s word, thus developing a spiritual and practical revelation of the truth, and we need roll models that are living out these truths either historically or contemporarily, because God works with others to train us by example. The Apostle Paul was a mentor to Timothy. He took him under his wing and even had him travel with him. He once told Timothy that he was to commit to others what he had learned from him (2 Timothy 2:2). The Apostle Paul was a dedicated student of God’s word, and he had been taught by our Lord Jesus Christ. So these two disciplines were present in Paul’s preparation. Revelation of God’s word, and the Lord Jesus was his role model. Are these two disciplines present in your life? Pray today that God give you wisdom, revelation and Godly mentors, so that you can effectively grow in Christ, and bear great fruit in your life.
