When Paul said that he had been crucified with Christ, this meant 2 things among others: a) His old life is over, and he is now a new creation, and b) he identified with Christ’s crucifixion. He now lives for Christ! Paul understood the magnitude of what the Lord Jesus did for humanity on the cross. That was the highest manifestation of love that will ever exist. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. In Christ, everything is new. Your past no longer has any real hold on you. You are now a new creation. Someone might say to you, “I know who you are; you are not fooling anyone.” Your response can be: “You might know my past; you might know who I was, but I am now a new creation. I am a new person in Christ.” Greater is He that is within you!
Galations 2: 20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”
