This “so called Christian” is a phony!

There are many people who say they are Christian, or followers of Christ. Yet, when we speak to “Christians,” their views are all over the place.  some feel that we should live one way, and others feel that we should live another way. This will only create confusion, and as it relates to eternal life, only one book has the bedrock solid truth, and that it is sacred scriptures. 1 John 2: 3-5 says: “Here’s how we can be sure that we’ve truly come to know God: if we keep his commands. If someone claims, “I have come to know God by experience,” yet doesn’t keep God’s commands, he is a phony and the truth finds no place in him. But the love of God will be perfected within the one who obeys God’s Word.” Please read this verse again. We cannot just know God “by experience.” Our experience might very well be wrong! We have to know and keep His commands. Anyone that claims that they are a “Christian” who does not follow God’s commands is a phoney according to the scriptures. It’s an error to think that just because your mother or father serve God, you’re covered and everything is OK between you and God. We all need a personal relationship with God in Christ. James 1:21-22 says: Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Are you a doer or a hearer only?

How to guarantee a sure reward!

Those who practice deception in order to hurt or destroy others are practicing a form of wickedness. Yet, in today’s society, much of business is done in a deceptive manner. How many times have businesses promised something, only to deliver sub-par materials or service. Others have agreed to provide a specific service, and after they get the money from the client, they deliver only 40-60 percent, and then disappear. Surely the judgement of God will come upon the wicked for their lies and deceptions. Conversely, the righteous deliver what they promise. God promises to the righteous that they will reap a sure reward because they work and serve with integrity. Always remember that integrity pays off in the end.

Proverbs 11:18 – The wicked man does deceptive work, but he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.
