Resurrection Power!

King David meditated on God’s word continually. He knew that God’s word contained life, wisdom, protection, instruction, direction and gives life to those who embrace His precepts. Psalm 119:93 (KJV) says: “I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me”. The (NKJV) says: “for by them You have given me life”. That word quickened is the Hebrew word Chayah (Strongs Hebrew: 2420), which means: “to revive, to make alive, to give life, to preserve, to restore back to life”.  Did you know that Jesus is the Word of God? Yes, He is the Living Word of God. We also have the written word of God which speaks of Him! John 1: 1, 14:  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth”. Ephesians 2:1 says: “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins”. If you are reading this, take a moment to thank God for the fact that you are alive. Be grateful for life. In Christ, you also have eternal life. I know that we are in the midst of many people who are constantly complaining about the dumbest things. But don’t get caught up in that mess.  Instead, take time to realize just how blessed we really are. By God’s grace, we have been given life and life eternal. Be like King David of old, and thank Him every day for the gift of life. Remember, He loved us even when we were dead in sins and trespasses. He is worthy of gratitude and praise!

Mine your business!

The term “mind your own business” is not a new term. The Apostle Paul told the church back in his day to mind their own business and to work with their own hands. This way they would be able to walk worthy of their call and lack nothing. 1 Thessalonians 4: 10-12 says: “But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more;  that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.” The Lord Jesus told His parents that He had to be about His Father’s business (Luke 2:49). So the focus for those who succeed in their endeavors is to not only mind or tend to their business, but to also “mine” their business. the word mine has various meanings. One of the meanings is: a place where there is a rich source of supply that needs to be accessed by digging. Gold and silver is found deep within mines. We also have rich resources within us. God has already equipped us with wisdom, abilities, potential, partnerships, resources and seed to be prosperous and lack nothing. So it’s time to stop looking for others to make things happen for us, and to look at what God has already placed in our hands. Say like Jesus and Paul: “I must be about my Father’s business”, and begin to “mine” your own business!

Luke 2:49 “And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
