They simply refuse to see the truth!

Have you ever argued with someone about something that is so clear and from your vantage point easy to understand, yet that person continues to argue that it is not so? After a while, you simply lift up your hands in exasperation and say, ” well then, have it your way!” You know they are wrong, but they refuse to see the truth, and nothing you do can change it. It’s very frustrating when you know something that can help someone else but they refuse to hear you and reject the help or wisdom that can help them with their problems. Well, consider how God must feel about this very issue. Jesus taught in the parable of the sower that even though people have the power of sight and the power of hearing, they continue to reject Him and His word, which is the most important revelation in history! Here are the verses that share this truth in the Amplified version: “This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while[having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp[spiritual things]. In them the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will hear and keep on hearing, but never understand; And you will look and keep on looking, but never comprehend” (Matthew 13: 13,14). Lord, open our eyes and ears that we may see the precious love and power that God has given us in Christ. May the eyes and ears of our families also be opened so that they would embrace the message of the cross and come to saving faith in Christ!
