Isaiah 61:1(a) and 3: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me….To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified”
I am grateful to God that He has sent His Spirit to indwell us and imbue us with life, power, love, grace, favor, joy, peace and other tangible blessings and benefits. His power delivers us from the spirit of heaviness which is operating powerfully in this world. There are countless people suffering silently with depression and oppression. Many have lost the desire to live and to accomplish anything significant in this life. This spirit zaps one’s energies, hopes and desires. This spirit has even afflicted many Christians without them being aware of it. It is vital that we recognize these symptoms and fully reject any attempt to enter one’s life. God has already given us the power to cancel all the assignments of this spirit. This is why we must daily spend time with God and His word. This will keep us sensitive and discerning so that when the enemy tries to find any open door that he may use to enter one’s life, we would be quick to identify it, and immediately rebuke and reject it. God has given us mighty weapons of warfare for pulling down strongholds, so let’s work with the resources and tools that God has already given us to ensure that these spirits and mindsets will not be able to afflict any one of us any longer.
Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him”
Amen. Praise the Lord.
