There are various definitions of the word pride. We can be proud of our work; proud of our children’s accomplishments; proud of our nation, etc. However, there is a pride that destroys. This kind of pride distorts one’s view of oneself and those around them. Pride is a master sin. This kind of pride caused the fall of the archangel Lucifer. Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines pride as inordinate self esteem and conceit. Proverbs 11:2 declares that those who allow this kind of pride to well up in their hearts, will come to shame! Conversely, those who are humble walk in wisdom. Romans 12:3 states: “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith”.
Proverbs 11:2 “When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom”
Amen!!! Thank you so much Apostle Nazario as we talked and prayed about humility on the 5:15am . Jesus was the greatest and walked the lowest to demonstrate humility towards His disciples. We are expected to do as He did
