Stop with the excuses, says the Lord!

Excuses. Everyone has one. We make excuses to cover our mistakes. We also make excuses in order to shift the blame from us to someone else. Sometimes we make excuses because we do not believe that we are capable or able to complete a task, We even make excuses to God when we disobey Him, thinking somehow that He will believe our excuse. When Jeremiah made an excuse to prove to God that he could not possibly do what God was asking him to do, God’s response to Jeremiah was very telling. He told him to never use that excuse. Instead, Jeremiah was to do what God instructed him to do, and He assured Jeremiah that He would be with Him. Wow! What a promise. Today, God tells you the same thing. Stop the excuses. God is with you, and will help you in that endeavor. He will not leave you nor forsake you. He qualifies you for the task. Go in His strength and might. Never limit yourself again. You are His ambassador and He goes with you!

Jeremiah 1: 6-8 “Then said I: “Ah, Lord GodBehold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord”.

Even Paul needed prayer for this!

Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:19 for fellow-believers to pray for him that Godly inspiration would be given to him. He also asked for boldness to preach the Gospel. Isn’t that interesting? The great apostle needed prayer for wisdom to speak, and for boldness to share his faith. This is what most of us go through today. This is not a new thing. It is God’s will and desire is that we share the Gospel, but it is an ongoing battle for most people. We daily battle the enemy of our souls who is constantly trying to shut down our witness. We battle embarrassment. We battle the thoughts of what people may think about us as believers. Having said that, this is another reason that we need to pray for each other. We need to pray in this day that God’s wisdom would flow through us mightily each and every day for  the benefit of those around us that need to hear the Gospel. We also need prayer for daily boldness because the only way people will come to saving faith in Christ, is that someone preach to them. Pray therefore every day for inspiration and boldness. God will honor this prayer, and these kind of prayers please God because He sees that you desire to do His will, which is for everyone to hear the good news of the Gospel!

Ephesians 6:19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.
